JOY DAWSON, REIGNING MS. TALL CLUB OF GREATER WASHINGTON, DC. IS THE NEW 2010 MISS TALL INTERNATIONAL

6’2” Joy Dawson of Manassas, Virginia will represent Tall Clubs International as the 2010 Miss Tall International. Miss Dawson was the Queen of the Tall Club of Greater Washington, DC. She was crowned Saturday night at the Tall Clubs International Convention in New Orleans.

Tall Clubs International (TCI), a not-for-profit organization, is holding their 2010 Tall Clubs International Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana June 24 through 29, 2010. About 150 tall people from across the United States, Canada, and Europe are attending.

Ms. Tall Club of Greater Washington, DC, Joy Dawson, competed with six contestants from around the country for the title. Miss Tall International 2010 will represent TCI as she travels to member clubs for publicity events and to promote tall awareness. The 2009 Miss Tall International, 6’4” Miss Holli Jennings is of the Portland Skyliners Club of Portland, Oregon.

As Miss Tall International Miss Dawson hopes to help children, as a motivational speaker she would go on tour and help young people harness what makes them unique and how to use it to their advantage.

During the pre-convention Tall Club members made a difference and had fun working with Habitat for Humanity June 22 - 24, 2010. In addition to providing social events for tall people, TCI and its foundation work to advocate for tall consumers, provide yearly scholarships for high school seniors, and raise funds for the National Marfan Foundation.

As part of the Tall Clubs International (TCI) Convention (June 24 through 29, 2010) about 150 tall people from across the United States, Canada, and Europe have been exploring the Big Easy as part of the Tall Clubs convention

Today, Saturday, is the highlight for the Miss Tall International Pageant. This takes place at the International Ballroom at the Canal Street Doubletree.

The contestant Queens and their respective clubs are:

13.5 great miles of biking

On Saturday the Yakima Talls enjoyed a 13.5 mile bike ride on the Yakima Greenway.

It was a great warm up to biking this summer. Let us know when you'd like to ride again!

The added visit to Yakima's Got Talent at the Seasons was a great addition. The winners were no other than the two TALLEST contestants: Ben Barg & Ethan Maier

Karaoke ended the day in the usual fun and unpredictable style!

Our next event will be July 17th - an outing to the YAKIMA BEARS BASEBALL GAME!

YAKIMA WELCOMES TALL CLUB ROYALTY

Tall Clubs International Royalty will be visiting Yakima, Washington on May 15, 2010.
Reigning 2009 Miss Tall International®, 6’4” tall Miss Holli Jennings and 2007 Miss Tall International®, 6’2” tall Jane Baldwin will be visiting Yakima to encourage the newly founded Yakima Talls Club.

Tall Clubs International (TCI) includes more than 60 not-for-profit tall clubs based throughout the United States and Canada.

Yakima Talls is a newly formed group of tall people which will one day become a charter TCI group. Yakima Talls is a social and community service organization for tall people and their shorter friends.

Also attending the event will be Mr. Tall Portland: 6’5” Dana Hartley of the Portland Skyliners Tall club. Other members of the Portland Tall Club will attend as well.

The Tall Royalty and local talls will gather on Saturday May 15th, 2010 at 6 pm @ El Mirador II (Yakima Ave & I82) for dinner and conversation.

Later that night, at 9pm, the group will Karaoke @ Clarion on 1st in Yakima. No doubt with a big group of talls there will be a request for “Short People.”
