JOY DAWSON, REIGNING MS. TALL CLUB OF GREATER WASHINGTON, DC. IS THE NEW 2010 MISS TALL INTERNATIONAL
6’2” Joy Dawson of Manassas, Virginia will represent Tall Clubs International as the 2010 Miss Tall International. Miss Dawson was the Queen of the Tall Club of Greater Washington, DC. She was crowned Saturday night at the Tall Clubs International Convention in New Orleans.
Tall Clubs International (TCI), a not-for-profit organization, is holding their 2010 Tall Clubs International Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana June 24 through 29, 2010. About 150 tall people from across the United States, Canada, and Europe are attending.
Ms. Tall Club of Greater Washington, DC, Joy Dawson, competed with six contestants from around the country for the title. Miss Tall International 2010 will represent TCI as she travels to member clubs for publicity events and to promote tall awareness. The 2009 Miss Tall International, 6’4” Miss Holli Jennings is of the Portland Skyliners Club of Portland, Oregon.
As Miss Tall International Miss Dawson hopes to help children, as a motivational speaker she would go on tour and help young people harness what makes them unique and how to use it to their advantage.
During the pre-convention Tall Club members made a difference and had fun working with Habitat for Humanity June 22 - 24, 2010. In addition to providing social events for tall people, TCI and its foundation work to advocate for tall consumers, provide yearly scholarships for high school seniors, and raise funds for the National Marfan Foundation.
